How does the Luminaze Enzyme Complex work?
Transformative in nature and on the skin, the patented Luminaze Enzyme Complex is bio-engineered and enhanced through a breakthrough scientific process to target excess pigmentation and dark spots on the skin. This catalytic enzyme, extracted from mushrooms, was originally found to naturally lighten tree bark in the Swiss Alps and is proven to have the same brightening action for the skin.
Dark spots and uneven skin tone tend to absorb rather than reflect light, which is why uneven skin tone can make your skin look dull and less youthful. Luminaze helps restore your natural skin tone and unique radiance. Its unique and precise pigment-targeting property removes excess melanin on the skin, visibly reducing dark spots and uneven skin tone for a brighter, more uniform complexion.
Should I use Luminaze as a spot treatment? Is it for the whole face or just for dark spots?
Luminaze is for your whole face, not just dark spots. The enzyme complex will target areas with excess pigmentation on the skin, giving you an overall even skin tone. No spot treatment is necessary. The formula works harder where you need it, and less where you don’t. You can also apply to the neck, hands and décolletage.
Can Luminaze prevent new dark spots or hyperpigmentation?
Luminaze is a fast, gentle and effective way to reduce the dark spots and uneven skin tone that you can see on the surface of the skin, while breaking up areas of hyperpigmentation on the skin that are starting to form. Of course, we always recommend a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF30 or higher, and a wide-brimmed tight-woven hat – both stylish and functional!
How is the Luminaze Enzyme Complex different from other brightening ingredients?
Unlike other dark spot treatments, Luminaze breaks up excess pigmentation on the surface of the skin, rather than bleaching the skin or inhibiting the natural process of melanin production, which can take longer to achieve visible results. The precise pigment-targeting power of Luminaze means that you can apply it all over the face to quickly, gently and effectively brighten the skin evenly.
Can I use this every day?
Yes, Luminaze has been tested by dermatologists worldwide to show that it is gentle enough to use twice a day, every day.
Is hydroquinone bad?
Hydroquinone is the leading ingredient recommended by dermatologists for hyperpigmentation, available over the counter or as prescription grade concentrations. In recent years, it has been banned in some countries due to its harsh properties. Luminaze does not contain hydroquinone. Luminaze is proven to work 2x better and faster than hydroquinone, without any of the harsh side effects.
Does Luminaze work on multi-ethnic skin types?
Regardless of what color your skin is, Luminaze helps return your skin to its natural tone by safely breaking up excess melanin on the skin. It is also proven effective on multi-ethnic skin types and doesn’t have a risk of hypo-pigmenting or bleaching the skin. The unique properties of the Luminaze Enzyme Complex promote an overall even skin tone by only targeting excess pigmentation. It’s gentle, safe and effective for all skin types.
Is Luminaze an anti-aging product?
Absolutely! Studies have shown that even if you remove all the lines and wrinkles from your face, dark spots and uneven skin tone make you look older. By brightening and evening your complexion, your skin will look more radiant and youthful. The night cream also has more emollient ingredients like shea butter and jojoba oil to hydrate the skin, which leads to smoother, softer skin.
Why do some spots take longer than others to lighten?
Some pigmentation can lie deeper within the skin, and is best treated by a dermatologist. However, most visible dark spots are on the skin’s surface and Luminaze helps to break up the excess melanin, reducing the visible evidence of the dark spot.
Most Luminaze products have a 2-step formula. Can I apply both solutions at once?
Luminaze has a unique dual-activation formula. For best results, apply the enzyme solution from the 1st compartment, spreading evenly all over the face. Then take an equal amount from the 2nd compartment and apply evenly over the same area. This allows the formula to absorb into the skin for maximum brightening efficacy.
Is this tested on animals?
No, Luminaze is not tested on animals.
Do I need to apply SPF after?
Yes, Luminaze does not replace your daily moisturizer or SPF. Although Luminaze does not cause sensitivity to UV rays, for optimal results, we recommend using the entire Luminaze routine and daily broad-spectrum UV protection.
Will it work on freckles or moles?
Luminaze breaks up excess melanin on the surface of the skin, which can include freckles that can appear over time due to sun damage, age, and/or hormonal changes. However, Luminaze will not affect anything you were born with, i.e. moles.
Will Luminaze work on melasma or pregnancy mask?
For any clinical skin conditions such as melasma, we recommend you consult with your dermatologist to see if Luminaze is appropriate for your skin.
Does Luminaze work on dark spots from acne?
Post-acne spots are similar to other dark spots where there is excess melanin (both red and brown) on the skin’s surface. Luminaze can help reduce the appearance of these dark spots by targeting areas of darker pigmentation, returning your skin to its natural color. It is also non-comedogenic, so it won’t aggravate further break-outs.

My new favorite cleanser.
My new favorite cleanser. My skin is very sensitive to harsh cleansers so this was gentle enough to not irritate my skin, and I love the rest of the Luminaze line so I was excited to try this to enhance my results. A little bit goes a long way and it has a really nice foam.

Love it, just wish it exfoliated more
Love this cleanser – it’s creamy and does a great job at removing all my makeup without drying out my skin. I use it with my clarisonic and I swear my skin is instantly brighter afterwards! The only thing is I wish it had exfoliating beads, so I alternate with my scrub.
